Since starting my financial planning practice in 1980, I have been focused on creating life-long relationships with clients. This has evolved into serving multiple generations of families from grandparents to grandchildren.

OUR TEAM

Gary Marsh, CLU, ChFC, CFP®

Founding Principal of Excalibur Financial Services LLC., Gary has more than 30 years of experience working exclusively with owners of closely held businesses and highly compensated individuals. He specializes in estate and gift planning, liability protection, business succession, tax savings, wealth accumulation and insurance analysis. The focus of his recommendations to assist with family governance and the management of wealth through generations.

Named Planner of the Year in 2008, Gary was chosen for this most prestigious award among 4,500 Lincoln National representatives nationwide. This accomplishment is particularly impressive from his office based in Jacksonville, Florida, rather than in higher income areas, such as Southern California, New York, Chicago, etc. Gary has achieved the highest level of recognition for a planner in each of the various firms with which he has been affiliated.

Gary graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Jacksonville University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Management and minors in Psychology and Marketing. He earned the coveted industry designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Estate and Business Underwriting through the American College in 1985. In 1987 he earned Certified Financial Planner (CFP) through the College for Financial Planning.

An avid speaker for many business associations, Gary speaks on investments, tax issues and estate planning throughout the country. He has represented his profession for Forbes magazine, WTLV-TV12, Florida Times Union and Jacksonville Business Journal. Also, Money magazine pursued and published his recommendations regarding a specific family case in April 2008.

Gary has resided in Jacksonville, Florida for more than 40 years. He has two sons, Ryan and Connor, who have both graduated from college with degrees in Business Finance. Ryan has been with Excalibur since the founding and Connor joined the firm in 2016. Gary enjoys boating, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and he is a red belt in karate. He is currently working to service his existing clients, add a select number of new clients and develop the right team to work with him as part of a succession plan for the long-term benefit of his clients.


Ryan Marsh, CFP ®

Ryan is a native of Jacksonville and has lived in the area his entire life. After graduating high school, he started a small business maintaining private vessels throughout Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Ryan decided to return to school after working his business and started at the University of North Florida to further his education while continuing to work his way through college.

Ryan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business finance in the spring of 2013 from the University of North Florida. While in school he excelled in securities and portfolio analysis and investments. During his last year in college he completed an internship at Lincoln Financial Advisors where he ran performance analysis on portfolios and worked directly with one of Lincoln’s top producers. Ryan decided to put his college degree to work and start a career full-time in late 2013 at Excalibur Financial Services where he has taken a specific interest in life insurance and investments.

Ryan married his wife Katharine in 2016 and in 2018 added their son Channing to the Marsh family. He enjoys spending his free time fishing, scuba diving, riding motocross and most importantly spending time with his family.

He has become an integral part of meeting, servicing, and developing new clients at Excalibur Financial Services and is driven toward becoming a partner in the firm.

Ryan has obtained the Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity license as well as the Series 7 and Series 66. In addition to his current licenses, he has also acquired the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.



Amanda Hanna

Amanda Hanna is the Administrative Assistant and Insurance Coordinator for Excalibur Financial Services. Amanda is responsible for assisting with client meeting preparation, record keeping and creating a welcoming environment for clients, as well as for staff.  Amanda is also in charge of managing and servicing client’s insurance needs, as well as, insurance design from underwriting to policy delivery.

Amanda grew up in Jacksonville, FL and attended Bishop Kenny High School. After high school, Amanda attended Florida State College of Jacksonville and earned her Associates degree. She worked at ICS|Merrill for two years while finishing her associates. She then pursued a degree in Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. While working on her bachelor’s degree, she gained employment at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin achieving two of the three internships she needed to graduate. She then studied abroad in Innsbruck, Austria for 4 months, where she traveled to nine different countries. After returning from Europe, she finished her third internship at Innovative Spa Management, where she was a concierge. She graduated from UCF in December 2013.

In February 2018, Amanda married her high school sweetheart, Jason.  They welcomed a son, Logan, in June 2019.  In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time in the sun with her family, which includes two 95lb dogs name Violet and Red.

Amanda has obtained the Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity license and Series 7 certification.



Connor Marsh, CFP®

Connor received his bachelor’s degrees in finance and real estate from Florida State University in 2012. Connor has since worked with a sector leading publicly traded REIT, Regency Centers, as a senior financial analyst. Connor joined Excalibur Financial Services in October of 2016. After gaining valuable experience in the corporate world, he decided to bring his education and knowledge to the family business.

Connor’s role at the firm is to head up client account management, investments, and economic research. He stays on top of all aspects of the investment accounts and in tune with current market activity.  Connor is excited to work alongside the great team at Excalibur Financial to continue building on his father’s success and to be there to help our clients build wealth for years to come.

To better serve the Excalibur Family, Connor has completed his series 7 and series 66 examinations. In addition to these, he is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. To earn this designation, courses in investment, tax, retirement, estate, insurance, financial management, and education planning must be completed and passed. After that, a capstone course, which includes completing a full financial plan, must also be approved. Once accomplished, a 6-hour CFP® exam must be passed. One of the core principals of becoming a CFP® is that you must act as a fiduciary or in the best interest of the client at all times.

Outside of work, Connor enjoys golf, fishing, and following his favorite football teams, the Jaguars and Seminoles.
